Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or date of birth typed into a search box on this site is sent straight to the outside provider that runs that search. The provider processes the query and returns the result. We do not keep a log of what you typed on our own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If you email us, we keep that message so we can answer it. Your note stays with our team, and we do not pass it to anyone outside the organization unless a legal obligation requires it.
Data We Gather Automatically
Each time a page here loads, our servers record a few technical details about the visit:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- The browser you use and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- Which pages you opened and how long you stayed
- The site that referred you, if there was one
- A timestamp for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
This site uses cookies, which are small files stored on your device. They show us which pages draw traffic and where readers lose interest. Analytics services help us total that activity. You can block cookies in your browser settings at any time, and some parts of the site may behave differently if you do.
What We Do With This Data
We use the information above for a short list of purposes:
- Keeping the site online and loading quickly
- Passing your search request to the correct partner service
- Learning which pages help readers and which need work
- Finding and fixing technical problems
- Showing advertising that may match your interests
No Warrant Data on File
This site does not host, compile, maintain, or sell a database of warrants or of personal warrant information. We publish general guidance about where Kalkaska County warrant records are held and how to ask the courts, the Sheriff's Office, and the county jail about them.
We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and nothing we collect about visitors is assembled into consumer reports or into files about other people.
Third-Party Search Partners
Search boxes on this site belong to outside companies. Whatever you enter there is handled under that partner's privacy policy, not this one. Those partners set their own retention and sharing rules, and we do not control them. Read the partner's policy before you submit a search.
Links to Other Websites
We link to court portals, sheriff's office pages, the Michigan courts, and outside search tools. Following one of those links takes you off this site, and the destination's privacy policy then applies. Read it before you share personal details.
Some advertising partners may track activity across websites to show targeted ads. That tracking runs on their systems, not ours.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. A limited set of parties may receive information connected to your visit:
- Search partners that handle a query you run here
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place advertising on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
We follow standard security practices to protect what we collect. No internet-connected service is perfect, though. We take reasonable steps to keep information secure, and we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This site is built for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has sent us data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Your Data Rights
Depending on where you live, Michigan law such as the Michigan Consumer Protection Act, MCL 445.901 et seq., may add to the rights you already have. At a minimum, you can:
- Ask for a copy of what we hold about you
- Ask us to correct information that is wrong
- Ask us to delete your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of processing
Requests aimed at a public body are different. The Michigan Freedom of Information Act, 1976 PA 442, MCL 15.231 et seq., governs records held by counties, cities, and sheriff's offices, not records held by a private website.
Updates to This Policy
We may revise this policy as the site changes. When we do, the new version appears on this page with a fresh effective date. Check back if you want to track how we handle visitor information.
Effective date: September 15, 2026
